| Note:
Dial-up connection can only be created by the Administrator or a
User with Administrator Rights.
1. From the Start
menu, choose Control Panel.

2. Click the Switch
to Classic View icon.

3. Double-click the Network
Connections icon.

4. Click the Create
a new connection icon.

5. Click the Next
button.

6. Select Connect
to the Internet.
7. Click the Next button.

8. Select Set up
my connection manually.
9. Click the Next button.

10. Select Connect
using a dial-up modem.
11. Click the Next button.

12. In the ISP Name
field, type a name to identify your connection (i.e. Metropolitan
Campus Dial-up).
13. Click the Next button.

14. In the Phone
number field, type your local access number exactly as
it needs to be dialed.
15. Click the Next button.

Note: Metropolitan Campus dial-up number
is (201) 692 2700 and The College at Florham is (973) 443 8501.
16. In the User
name field, type your Webmail
address (i.e. smith@fdu.edu).
17. In the Password field, type
your Webmail password.
18. In the Confirm password field,
type your Webmail password.
19. If checked, please uncheck the box next to Use
this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet
from this computer.
20. Click the Next button.

21. If you wish to have a shortcut to the
connection on your desktop, check the box next to Add
a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.
22. Click the Finish button.

23. Double click on the newly created Dial-up
icon and you should see the following:

24. Click the Dial
button.
25. Once the modem establishes a connection, you will see a dialog
box that will confirm an established connection.
Note: The Save this
user name and password for the following users: box may
be checked if you have a secure machine. If the box is checked,
you will not have to enter your password for each connection.
If you are using a publicly accessible machine you should not
check this box.
You will have to perform the above procedure
to create a connection for each location.
